BLOOD COLLECTION TUBES

 
 

 

Plain Tubes:
The inside wall of the tube has been uniformly coated with a special medicament that will keep the tube clear off sticking substance. This red tube is mainly for serum biochemical test.  The function of Coagulating Accelerator is to favor hematopexis.Tube with Coagulating Accelerator can be applied in case that a quick result is preferred.

Gel Tubes:
Inside of tubes silicon and activator coated.  Gel forms a barrier between serum and plazma.

EDTA Tubes:
In blood routine examination, EDTA anticoagulant compared with other anticoagulant, exerts a less influence on the agglutination of blood cells and cellular morphology. Therefore EDTA salt (2K, 3K, 2Na) is generally used as anticoagulant. EDTA salt tends to combine with calcium ion in the blood and generate sogenerate chelate complex to prevent hematopexis.

Sodium Citrate Tubes:
The blue tube contains preset sodium citrate at a concentration of 3.2% or 3.8%, which mainly functions upon fibrinolytic system (thrombinogen time, thrombin time, activated thrombinogen time and fibrinogen). Please see to collecting enough blood to guarantee the accuracy of the testing result. Please invert gently 5 to 8 times after blood collection.

Buffered citrate solution is used as an anticoagulant  for coagulation studies.  0.105 M : %3.2  Sodium Citrate  + Citric Acid pH=5.2

Lithium Heparin and Sodium Heparin Tubes:

The interior of the tube wall is coated with lithium heparin, ammonium heparin or sodium heparin. The anticoagulant heparin activates antithrombins, thus blocking the coagulation cascade and producing a whole blood / plasma sample instead of clotted blood plus serum.
Plasma tubes with lithium heparin and gel contain a barrier gel in the tube. The specific gravity of this material lies between that of the blood cells and plasma. During centrifugation the gel barrier moves upwards providing a stable barrier separating the plasma from cells. Plasma may be aspirated directly from the collection tube, eliminating the need for manual transfer to another container. This barrier allows for the stability of certain parameters in the primary tube under the recommended storage conditions for up to 48 hours.
Lithium determinations should not be performed in VACUPLUS® Lithium Heparin tubes. Ammonium determinations should not be performed in VACUPLUS® Ammonium Heparin tubes.

Glucose Tubes:

Glucose tubes are available with different additives. The tubes contain an anticoagulant and a stabilizer, i.e. EDTA and sodium fluoride / potassium oxalate and sodium fluoride / sodium heparin and sodium fluoride / lithium heparin and iodoacetate.
VACUPLUS® glucose tubes are suitable for the analysis of blood sugar and lactate.

ESR Tubes:

ESR tubes contain a 3.2% buffered tri-sodium citrate solution (0.129 mol/l). The mixing ratio is 1 part citrate solution to 4 parts blood. VACUPLUS® ESR tubes are used for the collection and transport of venous blood for blood sedimentation rate testing.                  ESR measurements refer to the Westergren method.
